The Art of Productivity

I look at the title of this post and I can not help but laugh.  Productivity has not been one of my strong suits over the last year.  No good reason, or at least none that I can honestly put my finger on.  I only know that it was as if I was in limbo.  I had the desire.  Yet when it came time to exert that desire something inside of me just fizzled and nothing occurred. Although at times I can over think things, this is something that I have promised myself to just accept and move on from.  The lull seemed to be felt my many and I was not singled out alone it seems.  Finally I seem to have come out from under the wet blanket that covered me and once again I feel that surge to create and produce something…. anything.

I have once again started to dabble in my writings.  I have had several ideas as of late and have started to once again put them to pen and paper.  Of course I will share them with all of you when they are in a more presentable manner.

I have also been craving to create in a crafty manner again.   I have even reopened my Esty shop and am bound and determined to start posting items once again.  From my hand made willow runes to embroidery sachets,  home grown potpourri, and so much more; soon my shop should be up and running at full steam.  When it is in a more presentable state I will post the link on my blog, just in case you would like to check it out.

The out of doors has also been calling me.  The sweltering heat of last summer threw so many things out of whack and the usual time I spent outside was greatly reduced.  I am also eager for this to change as it will inspire me in all my areas of creation. Nature has a way of doing that.  Last night we received a welcomed rain and already I can see the life peek through.  Spring is not far away and newness will be everywhere.

I guess sometimes we do just need to sit and be still.  Sit and listen to the hushed voices around us and what they may be saying.  It is so easy at times to get caught up in all the noise and clamor that we lose site of what the true goal may be.  I am looking forward to the spring cleaning of my life as this new year transpires.  I have a feeling that it is going to be an interesting one indeed.

Blessings

What To Do?

Today I sit and wonder. Not a new thing for me actually.  I sit and wonder much of the time.  I have been accused of thinking to much on several occasions.  Yet today I feel as if I am pondering even more.  Maybe it is the fact that we received snow AGAIN last night and still the yard is a soggy muddy mess.  I am unable to go outside and just allow the outdoors to sink into me.  I can not putter around in my garden and feel the energy of the earth as I dig and plant in the soft soil.  I can not clear the dead leaves and fallen branches from where they have accumulated over the past months of winter. At least I can not do these things without the companionship of the cold and the moisture that is everywhere.

So again I sit inside.  There are things I should probably be doing and definitely things I want to do yet motivation does not seem to be much of a friend today.  I am sure I will push myself up on occasion to do a few small chores that will enable me to feel at least somewhat productive and not be too hard on myself.  Yet I long for the surge of energy that comes at this time of year.  It is not that I am tired or under the weather.  I feel fine.  There just does not seem to much of a spring in my step today.

A warm cup of tea with honey and cinnamon I am sure will help somewhat.  Maybe a good book and some quiet time to fall into it and be lost for the day in another world.  I have been working on my writing as of late.  The fact that my granddaughter has been learning to read this past year and has become quite an avid reader has inspired me some.  I had started a story some time back for my grandkids.  It incorporated them into the story.  I thought that I could read it to them when they came to visit, yet in truth I think that my granddaughter may end up reading it herself.

It starts on a gloomy day much like today and eventually takes them to the land of Fae.  Through magical adventures and the meeting of new friends, their mundane day turns into something far more than they expected.  Maybe I should take a day off and visit.  It doesn't sound too bad.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend.  Hopefully mother nature will be kind to you and allow you all just a little bit of sunshine.

Drawn..........

I am drawn to all that resembles the coming spring.  Drawn to the Rowan for its resemblance of Imbolc and the quickening it represents.  Drawn to the brightness of the birds as they begin to don their more vivid colors in preperation for the courtship that is soon to begin.  Drawn to the urge to cleanse and begin a new.  Drawn to plant and see the small green sprouts slowly shoot our of the soft rich earth which hold them.  I am drawn out of myself.  As if in side a cocoon or warm winter cave, I long to emerge out into the bright sunlight and once again create.

Yesterday I began my planting indoors.  I planted herbs of Basil, Rosemary, Chamomile and Lavender.  I planted a multitude of flowers from columbine,  forget me nots, cupids darts and many others.... Likewise I have started my much needed spring cleaning and as stated earlier, I am eager to complete it by the end of this week.  Not only will it allow me to do my house cleansing at Imbolc it will also get it out of the way and allow me more time to do other things when the weather does turn warmer and remain that way.

As for the creativity side of it all.  I am to receive my netbook this week.  Words can not even begin to explain the excitement inside of me in regards to this.  I have patiently been waiting for it since I ordered it earlier this month.  It is a late Christmas presant from my sweetie, Vincent.  I have been holding off on much of my writing until it arrives, as this is going to be its main purpose.  I can hardly wait to recieve it. I think I can safely say I am busting at the seams with words to put down.

Like so many others I have also decided to attempt a little organization on my part especially in regards to my blog.  If I truly give the time I am wanting to my writing I am definately going to have to do some organizing.  I have started a weekly post on Monday's which will be a brief detail of the current Tree Month.  It has always been an area which I am quite fond of and seeing that much of my life these days seems to be centered around the wonderful tree, I thought it only right.  Possibly somewhat of an omen you might say.  At the moment it is quite basic yet as time continues who knows the posts may grow into more detail.  Likewise I will continue to focus on a new blog each week.  Introducing you and yours to little treasures I find in blogland.  This post as always will appear each Wednesday.  It has become a very special part of my week and has truly brought me many blessings as well as new friends.

Who knows I may try a few other things out yet I am not too keen on making it to organized or set in its tracks as I think that that can make it become somewhat boring or predictable and I do not want to become either of those things.  I like the interaction that off the cuff entries can bring between blogger and comments.  And that is something that can not always be achieved via a planned or scheduled blog post.  For some time though I have wanted to somewhat get a bit more of myself into Mother Moon.  In regards to my spiritual path.  It has beem emerging at a quickening pace and I very much would like to at least share some of the ride with some of the people whom I feel have helped to get me here.  You know who you are.. and if you even have a bit of  a wonderment if you are one of them... then you probably are.... what would a girl do without you....

So off I go... to continue my tasks for this Monday morning.  I wish you a warm and cheery Monday morning.. Yes I know there are some of you who do not like to smile on Monday mornings, yet I still wish you a good one... Get you a big cup of coffee... take a couple good sips in silence, ponder on all the things that are good..... and I bet you will at lest have a bit of a smile... enjoy.... many blessings to you all.

Monday Morning Rambling, a Day Late

Yes, yesterday was a Monday.  It is the day of the week that most identify with a bad day.  Why is that?  A good reason could be that it is when most are finishing up a delightful weekend only to have to return to the dredges of work once more.  Not necessarily a wonderful thought.  Yet for me yesterday  was a wonderful day.  I always seem to think I am going to be super woman on Mondays.  Tackle all the many things I need to do and make a decent dent into their completion.  It seldom works out that way..... Uusally I end up doing things that need to be done yet are nowhere near to the list I created, among lots of things that suddenly spring up unexpected... So of course they were not even considered at the time of the list's preperation.  It makes for a good excuse anyway at the end of the day.  By the way, my unexpected need that sprung up yesterday:  The beautiful sunshine - I ended up sitting outdoors in it all afternoon.  Although many may argue for me it was a need that just needed to be fulfilled.

Yet I had no intention of writing in regards to Mondays or unforseen chores that happen out of the clear blue.  I have been trying for some time to frantically catch up with blog reading since before the holidays.  Several times I have just given up as there is just too many.  Yet there are a few out there that I don't want to miss out on.  It seems that the new year has gotten many of those in blogland energized with a new sense of purpose.  Some I truly think  do not even realize that they have it, yet thier post have definately exhibited the added adrenaline.  Depth is a good word to describe the overall feel of January posts.  I do hope that this pattern continues as I have read some wonderful posts.  They have been filled with knowledge not only found in books yet also from self experience and a true intuitiveness.

I wonder sometimes if many of the writers realize just how profound their words are at times when they place them down for so many to read.  Some think they are way too young and early in their journey.  They are only starting out.  How can anything they say really enlighten anyone.  They are simply writing their progress down as an outlet for themselves in hopes that some support may be had.  There are others, older in age, who have been traveling for some time yet never really thought of themselves as someone whose journey was an eventful one or whose abilities on that journey were anything to really shout about.  They too are looking for some encouragement to continue on their trek as at times it seems lonely and the desire to sit for a long spell can be overwhelming.  It seems that even the seasoned travelers sometime take for granted the jewels to be had in some of thier gifts to us per their daily posts.

I very much look forward to the coming weeks.  Thus far this year, I have been educated, enlightened, and energized with much of what I have read.  I truly hope that the trend continues and that we continue to receive the morsels that I am quickly becoming accustomed to.  Also I hope that those who hands and minds have penned so much of the things I speak of realize the importance inside of themselves and also the worth.  We are all individuals, each with a gift to give.  We need to believe in that gift and not belittle it or allow anyone else too.  The strength we find within ourselves to continue is the strongest and most durable there is, for no one can take it away lest we let them.

So in closing I say a big thank you.... It is a grand thing technology... Guess we should all send a thank you note to Mr. Gore for inventing the internet.  What would we be without it.
