Weekly Featured Blog - Raven Moon Magic

You may have noticed a new entry to the right for my weekly featured blog.  If you haven't I would suggest that you take a look.  I found Sheree's site - Raven Moon Magic a while back.  My favorite part about it is the wonderful photographs she displays.  I love how she tells her stories as much with photos as she does with words.  Her eye for a great picture is fantastic.  Plus being in New Zealand, she has some breathtaking views to share.

She also has a must see Esty Shop - Monsheshe.  This is a treasure I only recently visited yet have already purchased a gift for my daughter from her.  She is quite talented in her creations. I am always looking for things that are unique.  I simply love her Paper Moon items.  Check them out when you have some free time.  I think you will agree with me on all counts.

Featured Blog - Art From My Heart

There is nothing I love more than someone with a kind spirit and a kind word.  Marie is just that.  A gentle soul that shows through in the art work she does.  I would like to encourage those of you who may not already know Marie  to visit her site Art Of My Heart.  It is sprinkled with uplifting words as well as wonderful examples of her many projects .  She is also known for having an occasional giveaway now and then.  I have not been fortunate to win any of them as of yet, though I can say it is definitely on my wish list.

Go Out Beneath the Naked Moon

Once again I come to you with a new place to visit.  This is a newbie whose blog just recently started.  She asked if I would help tell others about her and of course you all know what my answer was.  I would be more than happy to do just that... And believe it or not, I was fretting about who to put in my featured spot this week... As always I need only to trust and the answers will be given to me.

The blog I would like to introduce you to is Go Out Beneath the Naked Moon.  Now of course anything having to do with the precious moon is going to grab my attention.  Yet let me assure you that there is many other things that are delightful here also.  Currently she is having a wonderful giveaway where she has some wonderful crone stones, an adorable octopus and a helpful book (we can all use more books) to give.  So I urge you when you get the time, drop by and make a visit.  Blessing

Deep Thoughts with Old Man Sutton - Weekly Featured Blog

Being the age I am I remember fondly the Saturday Night Live shot of "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy".  Hilariously funny yet at times quite thought provoking...  similiar to Ryan over at Old Man Sutton.  There are some of you who know of his writings, music, and art... and more whom have yet to experience it... That is the main reason I have decided to choose it as my weekly featured blog.  Ryan has a  wonderful way of taking any subject and bringing clarity  and depth to it.
Whether it is via one of his post or one of his comments on others blogs.  He speaks from a male perspective which to me is refreshing at times... I mean lets face it... most bloggers seem to be female... He speaks of the single parenting lifestyle as well as being single, his beliefs and practices, frustrations and ponderment on many a subject  and so much more... I urge you to take a peek.  I think you enjoy what you find....

Antics of A Tameran Witch - Weekly Featured Blog

A short time back I ran across a wonderful blog by an extremely talented young solitary. Her artistic ability simply amazes me and I am constantly surprised at her wonderful abilities.  It just did not seem fair to not share such a wealth with my fellow followers so that they could enjoy her also.
Many of you have already found Antics Of A Tameran Witch.  I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about when I speak of her talents.  She has a range of genres from glass blowing to painting to drawing and then some.  Her first piece to attract my attention was the pages of her Book of Shadows.  Such detail is given to her work.  It is easy to tell that she has great pride in what she does.   Her site has a couple of slide shows which exhibit her work.  She is in the process of starting up an esty shop also which I have to say I am so excited about...

So when you have a moment or two, stop by and say hi and take a look... I think you may like what you see.

Weekly Featured Blog - Divining Women

Talk about hot off the griddle... this blog is spanking brand new.  Usually I would not choose such a blog to feature as I would want to give it a bit of time to sprout and grow and see what kind of fruit it would produce, yet I am assured with this one that it will be one that will grow into something wonderful... Mainly because I know the 2 women who have joined forces to create it and bring to us what I know will be wonderful information, inspiration, and just plain goodness.

She calls herself a wife, mother, daughter, sister, writier, gardner, crafter, pagan, and a ninja... That alone tells you she knows alot.  Im Not Hannah is a wonderful site filled with wonderful earthy stories that anyone can relate to.  She is one of the authors of Divining Women.

The other is no stranger to many of you.  Bridgett over at Doug & Boo is also helping out.  Honestly with all the blogs these two already have I am not sure where they find the time yet I am confident that they will do a great job at it.

Their first post was yesterday on Imbolc, which seems quite fitting.  A wonderful introduction into the wishes of the site and the manner in which they wish to take things.  For any of us with questions, a little lack of confidence or we just don't know, I have a feeling this is going to be a site that we will enjoy.  So I urge you to go and visit Divining Women when you have a few moments to spare.  I can assure you that you will not be disapointed.

Deep In The Lyon's Den - This Weeks Featured Blog

I know that there are a few of you who have found this little jewel yet I still wanted to highlight it this week as my featured blog.  Many of you know her from The Wandering Hearth .  Recently she began a new project Lyons Tarot Den.  If you like indepth writings and reviews on anything Tarot, this is your place to be.  It is a wee babe in blogland with its first post being written on January 9th 2010, yet it is authored by a well seasoned writer.  One of the things I love most about Lyon is that she is not afraid to write anything yet she has a wonderful manner of being frank yet compassionate.  This generally refers to her initial blog The Wandering Hearth, yet it appears that her new blog is going to be quite the same.

When visiting Lyons Tarot Den you cannot only read of reviews on various tarot decks, there is also the option to have a reading done by Lyon herself.  I myself have not done this yet, although I have to admit I am quite curious and usually my curiousity wins out.... I urge you to go and  visit this newly developed site and sit a spell and ponder over all there is.  Lyon has a wonderful way of digging deep into the matter and finding little trinkets that are at times overlooked.  Enjoy the reading.... I know I do

Drawn..........

I am drawn to all that resembles the coming spring.  Drawn to the Rowan for its resemblance of Imbolc and the quickening it represents.  Drawn to the brightness of the birds as they begin to don their more vivid colors in preperation for the courtship that is soon to begin.  Drawn to the urge to cleanse and begin a new.  Drawn to plant and see the small green sprouts slowly shoot our of the soft rich earth which hold them.  I am drawn out of myself.  As if in side a cocoon or warm winter cave, I long to emerge out into the bright sunlight and once again create.

Yesterday I began my planting indoors.  I planted herbs of Basil, Rosemary, Chamomile and Lavender.  I planted a multitude of flowers from columbine,  forget me nots, cupids darts and many others.... Likewise I have started my much needed spring cleaning and as stated earlier, I am eager to complete it by the end of this week.  Not only will it allow me to do my house cleansing at Imbolc it will also get it out of the way and allow me more time to do other things when the weather does turn warmer and remain that way.

As for the creativity side of it all.  I am to receive my netbook this week.  Words can not even begin to explain the excitement inside of me in regards to this.  I have patiently been waiting for it since I ordered it earlier this month.  It is a late Christmas presant from my sweetie, Vincent.  I have been holding off on much of my writing until it arrives, as this is going to be its main purpose.  I can hardly wait to recieve it. I think I can safely say I am busting at the seams with words to put down.

Like so many others I have also decided to attempt a little organization on my part especially in regards to my blog.  If I truly give the time I am wanting to my writing I am definately going to have to do some organizing.  I have started a weekly post on Monday's which will be a brief detail of the current Tree Month.  It has always been an area which I am quite fond of and seeing that much of my life these days seems to be centered around the wonderful tree, I thought it only right.  Possibly somewhat of an omen you might say.  At the moment it is quite basic yet as time continues who knows the posts may grow into more detail.  Likewise I will continue to focus on a new blog each week.  Introducing you and yours to little treasures I find in blogland.  This post as always will appear each Wednesday.  It has become a very special part of my week and has truly brought me many blessings as well as new friends.

Who knows I may try a few other things out yet I am not too keen on making it to organized or set in its tracks as I think that that can make it become somewhat boring or predictable and I do not want to become either of those things.  I like the interaction that off the cuff entries can bring between blogger and comments.  And that is something that can not always be achieved via a planned or scheduled blog post.  For some time though I have wanted to somewhat get a bit more of myself into Mother Moon.  In regards to my spiritual path.  It has beem emerging at a quickening pace and I very much would like to at least share some of the ride with some of the people whom I feel have helped to get me here.  You know who you are.. and if you even have a bit of  a wonderment if you are one of them... then you probably are.... what would a girl do without you....

So off I go... to continue my tasks for this Monday morning.  I wish you a warm and cheery Monday morning.. Yes I know there are some of you who do not like to smile on Monday mornings, yet I still wish you a good one... Get you a big cup of coffee... take a couple good sips in silence, ponder on all the things that are good..... and I bet you will at lest have a bit of a smile... enjoy.... many blessings to you all.

Hearts for Haiti - Featured Blog

A multitude of options are available to any and all who may want to in some way contribute to the relief efforts of Haiti.  I truly believe that there is something for everyone and that no matter what your circumstance you can find something that will fit you and your situation so that you can give in some manner.  It gives a good feeling that so many are so willing to give to this effort as it is one that is monumental.

Yesterday I ran across this site and thought I would post it as my featured blog for the week.  It is not neccessarily a blog yet it shows the ability to help quite nicely.  Esty has created a specific site Hearts For Haiti where any of their patrons can contribute an item for sale.  All proceeds (after esty fees) will go to the relief fund for Doctors Without Borders.  I have went to the site often and it is amazing how it continues to grow.  Not only with contributions of items to sale yet also with the amount that has already been sold.    Thus far when I last checked which was this morning they had already collected $6963.00.  Not bad... Not bad at all

I know that in my post yesterday there were remarks of how helpless people felt.  As if they felt like there was nothing that they could do.  It can look overwhelming yet the magic has already started.  Millions and Millions of $ have already been donated (although it will take Millions and Millions more).  People have stepped in and given of their time and energy to help in a physical sense.  There will be other needs that arise as time passes also.  This can make one feel as if there is so little that can be done, yet still I look back to the simple drive from Red Cross.  The Cell Phone Text of Haiti to 90999 donating a mere $10 raised over 22 million dollars in less than a week.  That is a nice dent in the bucket if you ask me.  Every penny truly does count.  So I encourage you to drop by this site and see whats going on....

Featured This Week : A Male's Perspective

It was never my intent some time back, when I posted my first entry encouraging others to visit a specific blog site as I felt that it had some material that could be interesting to others, that I would enjoy or continue the process as I have.  It truly was just a one time thing for me at first.  Yet then others came along and I wanted to let others know about them.  Now it seems that I feel led each week to focus on a specific blog or person.  I truly do not  try  and figure out who I will write about or simply go down a list.  I do not choose out of the fact that it is one who has just started and needs followers, yet sometimes it works out that way.  Sometimes I truly think on Monday that I know who I will write about, yet as Wednesday rolls around, that idea has changed all together and it ends up being someone entirely different.

This week I would like to point you in the direction of The Bogamans Blog.  I fell on this site simply by chance.  When Oklahoma was having the blizzard of 2009 last month I had posted some photos of all the snow and the craziness of it all.  Steve, having earlier memories of Oklahoma sent me an email commenting.  Of course when I saw he had a blog I checked it out.  I am not sure if it is the fact that he has ties to Oklahoma, he has Celtic heritage and interest, he post adorable nostalgic photos , he occationally throws in a great recipe, he has a variety of tatoos, or that he rides a bike that continues to keep my interest.  Yet I have found his site to be interesting, down to earth and from the heart.

He speaks of his journey with an open heart and blunt honesty.  He is a lover of nature.  That is evident not in his claims yet in the manner in which he speaks and the references he makes to things that inspire and uplift him.  In blog land you do not see many men who exhibit themselves in a manner that could be considered revealing.  This is a man's way.  Yet The Bogamans Blog seems to toe this line nicely.

So the next time you are out looking for a males perspective or just want some good reading, I suggest that you head over and check it out.  You may be wondering what Bogaman means... It is the Old World Celtic word for Bowman or Archer.  Yea he's a hunter too.

The Wealth of Wisdom

Ocassionally in our lives when we are fortunate we encounter those wonderful people who are blessed with wisdom.  I truly think they are a gift and too often we neglect to see the true treasure they are.  Wisdom can come in so many forms.  From the bluntness of a child's words to the simple musings of a stranger as they pass by.  Yet one of the most often resources for pure wisdom is from the experiences and life of one who has simply lived.  Gathering in knowledge through the years and learning from it.  Unfortunately we all go through the stage where we think we know it all yet as we start to gain in age ourselves we realize the true value of such things and our minds seem to become a bit more open to things that are not necessarily our own.

Some time back I was blessed to find Mxtodis123 via blogland.  Little did I know at the time just what a wealth of wisdom she would become to me, in more ways then one.  A very wise woman indeed, at the ripe age of 62.  Now of course with me being 48 I do not see this as old.  It is only a woman coming into the true prime of her life.  Something I truly wish I would have known when I was younger... It would have saved me so much... Believe me... all your younger women... Getting older is a wonderful thing...  Mary as Mxtodis123 is more formally known has several blogs to visit, all of them offering information in regards to some area of interest. Her rich Celtic ancestory and desire to learn of it is what fuels her.  Her blogs are detailed and very rewarding to read.

Although Moontides is the blog which I feature, there are several others to choose from with more detailed information on specific areas.  Avalon Revisted  is a site dedicated to her Celtic heritage and the history of it.  Inner Journey: The Moon Mythology and You is an indepth blog on the archetypal dimensions of the female self through the cycle of the moon.  Finding Faerieland focuses on the land of faerie and all its wonder and magick.  She even recently stated up a new blog Dreams: A Pathway to the Soul.  Diving head first into the interpertation and explanation of dreams.  I truly think I can easily say that there is something for everyone in Mary's contributions to blogland.  I invite you to visit one or all of her sites.  Personally I think you should take a peek at each one as they are all truly wonderful.  It amazes me at the dedication and time spent on all of these as Mary also works... She truly is a wonder woman... Enjoy

Weekly Featured Blog to Visit

It seems that many of the blogs that I run across are women, young and old, trying to figure out how to live the way they feel in their hearts, yet not upsetting the tendar balance of friends and family.  What is it about us, that gives us such nuturing ways that we feel obligated to see to the happiness of so many.  It is just the make up of a woman I guess.  I do not think that this will change anytime soon.

Anytime someone signs up to follow my blog, I go and check theirs out.  This is one of the secrets I have in finding the treasures I find.  And once again the hunt proved fruitful.  June like many of us is hiding in her broom closet and has choosen to share her adventures with blogland.  I love her writing as it seems true and honest and you can hear the concern in her voice as she writes about the pros and cons of slowly sharing her beliefs with those who encircle her world.  Truly I believe that this is an admirable trait and one that will eventually bring her out of her closet in full force once she gains the confidence she needs.  And we all know that friends can help this process tremendously.
Of course this is where the lot of you come in..... Isn't her title and such so cute, her button likewise.... Closet Magick has a little of all of us in it.  Of course there are some that this point may be long gone in their journey which is even better for June as your pearls of wisdom can help her I'm sure... Still there are others who struggle also with the release of knowledge to family and friends on the inner workings of your life when it comes to beliefs and practices.  I invite you to visit June at Closet Magick and welcome her.
