A beautiful full moon could be seen this evening. As in most colder months it was clear and crisp to the eye and the yellow hue was upon it. As I watched it rise, I could not help but be amazed by its beauty... No matter how many full moons I watch rise I still can not get over how absolutely beautiful she always is. Yet I am a moon child what can I say. I love the sun in all its warmth and brillance yet the moon holds a special place in my heart. It never fails each month for the few days before and after she is full I will awake in the night as she travels over the night sky. Her glow shining through my window as if to beckon me to come out and play with her. I have sat many a night just gazing at her all alone. She is definately a part of me.
I also think that as she changes through each month that some of us feel her stronger than others. The waxing and wanings of each month seem to hold more importance to our demeanors. Also the new and full moon effect us in their special ways. The full moon always has me at a heightened emotional state. If I allow myself to lose track of this sometimes it can catch me off guard and cause the emotions to run even higher. Also I tend to flow with the full moon so it is a fun time in my house whenever the moon is in all her glory....
I find it funny how women tend to be more moved by the moon than men. Not that I think the moon does not effect the male species, I just think that as women are emotional creatures, likewise the moon holds that place. Perhaps some of my highly emotional state is due to the season. Although I have tried to keep myself busy and tell myself that all is well I know deep down that it is not as right as rain. I am not a person to spill all her worries and woes out to others... A tough girl that is me... Yet so many of you have opened up and I have admired so your courage to do that. It is friends that help one to get through such things. Yet for those who know me best know I try my hardest to be an optimist.
I believe it can have a profound effect on ones situation. I learned long ago it does nothing to worry. Yet I have also learned that I do not lean on my friends enough. Yet this was suppose to be a post about the moon wasn't it, not about me and my emotional state.....And like me it has become another rambling. Yet it has been an odd day for me..not exactly sure why....Yet I will leave you with a wish for a warm night inside (as it is currently 33 here and terribly windy... brrr) with loved ones, and a nice night sleep. And may you have clear skys so that you too can have a glimpse of the beautiful woman that graces our skys this evening...

33 degrees. Brrrr is right. We're up in the 50's most of the day, but it's rainy and I can hear the wind howling outside so I guess I can use my imagination. LOL!!! I really have to brave the rain and get a look at this moon.

Your post made me think of a favourite chant: "Sister Moon, watch over me; Your child I will always be; Sister Moon, watch over me; 'Til I am free."
I think I can identify with exactly the feeling that you're talking about - that emotional pitch with the full moon. I too get my flow around the full moon and I am pretty sure that's one of the things that amplifies it for me. It can be hard to deal with, hard to focus, hard to remain centered if it catches you off guard and allow the emotions and bouncing energy to run off with you. Sometimes I can keep it in perspective, sometimes I can't, still working on that one. ;-)
Debra, Love the chant simple but to the point... thanks for sharing.
mxtodis, I hope you get to see the moon, she is a beauty this month.. yet I always like her in the colder months....
Lyon, You just have to love the full moon and all its wonderful effects.... nice to hear Im not the only one...
Dear friend, my motto is keep it real. I believe in keeping it real not in keeping it strong.
Sharing is releasing control.
Love to you.

Yes the moon effects us differently that's for sure! I am too in tune with her sometimes and I just cast off a few days a month to not make decisions hastily. :)
The moon looked like a huge yellow cookie in the sky! My daughter and I took a drive towards it as it was comin up!
I feel increase in energy flow within me at full moon. And yesterday night at my part of the world la luna was bigger then usual, silver with sharp edges - she is magical and beautiful.
We have had clear skies here too, which is wonderful for moon-viewing, but also conducive to ice and frost - brrr!
I do feel more intense during a full moon, and definitely find myself pulling inward as the moon wanes to dark.
Stay warm and well!
First of all, the title of this blog is a great album by Tom Petty.
It is amazing how you describe your connection to the moon.
One thing I disagree on is that you feel that how women tend to be more moved by the moon.
Yet that is my own feeling. Men are not often in to these things so I do see your point however I am a moom guy myself. I watch 'him' every night unless clouds cover it up in total and for instance last summer being on a Greek island we could see the moon coming up in the afternoon and were watching it roll on whilst standing/laying in the sea. Then later in the evening watching it again, well that was me and my wife so it is 50 percent interest lol.
At nights I would so often walk out to wach the moon and even here at home I watch it every morning and also watch the eclipses.
Another man - I am not alone - George Harrison wrote a song about the moon when he was watching it at Maui
"Impulse always quickens when it's full"
"God's gift I see that's moving up there into the night . . .
Though dark the mirror in the sky reflects us our light"
It's a beautiful blog and do ramble miss Moon :)
It's 38 degrees here right now. Brrr, indeed.
Our moon is one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen...especially when she's full and in all her glory. I suspect she'll be one of the most beautiful sights I ever will see.
And this month, in particular, I thought she was especially beautiful.
